Meet Our Experts
Michael Toth, DO
Dr. Toth is a graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine, Des Moines. After completion of training at the Michiana Community Hospital in South Bend, Indiana, he started a family medicine practice that included worker’s compensation care. It soon became clear that there had to be a better way to handle occupational medicine and the worker’s compensation system, which became the genesis of a several decade career focused in occupational medicine.
His CV includes occupational medicine clinic start-up projects and several Medical Director positions, including with Mayo Health Systems.
Dr. Toth is the president/owner of MedFocus Consulting, which is dedicated to creating and fine tuning occupational medicine clinical delivery systems.
John Machuta, DO, MPH
Dr. Machuta is a graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine, Des Moines. He completed his training in Garden City, Michigan and began a career in family practice. An opportunity with an industrial clinic in Detroit was the catalyst for a robust career in occupational medicine as he sought to find innovative ways to improve methods of occupational medicine practice.
His CV includes occupational medicine clinic physician and medical directorship positions in a broad variety of settings including the United States Postal Service, Pfizer/Parke-Davis, and General Motors.
Dr. Machuta currently serves as the Medical Director of Occupational Health for Mercy Medical Center in Iowa City, IA.
